Inexpensive Marketing Methods for Startups, Part 2
Continued from Inexpensive Marketing Methods for Startups, Part 1
Having already discussed the benefits of using a well-written press release to introduce a courier business to the area, we can now turn to a second approach to inexpensive marketing methods for startups, and that is through the creation of articles, blogs, and materials that will make others aware of your services and boost your website’s ranking on search engines.
How is this done? It is actually very easy, but it will cost the business owner some time to get started.
The first thing to do is to setup a website. Now, as a courier service you might not believe that a comprehensive website is a necessity, but modern consumers no longer grab a phone book to find what they need, do they?
No, they head to the Internet and type in some search terms. This means that you have to think like a potential customer and decide on the terms that would most often take them to your site.
Using these terms, also known as “keywords”, you need to write pages and articles for your website. These must be completely sensible articles that are not jam-packed with the keywords.
Why not? Search engine algorithms just keep getting smarter and smarter and most will recognize when text is invalid.
You should also use the terms to draft blogs that appear everywhere from your Facebook page to sites where you are invited to guest blog. Make sure that there is some data that links the reader to your site as well.
After only a few months you will see that your site’s rank in search engine results is getting higher. If you have done really well with this “organic” approach to search engine optimization (SEO) you might be in the top ten.
Millions of website owners hire freelance writers for such work, and this might not be a bad idea if you have a bit of room in the budget.
