Thanks for contacting us. It sounds like you have some good experience in the courier business that will help you get going on your own.

To answer your question, finding clients is perhaps THE most important part of being in business for yourself. Even once you get established and are doing well, you’ll need to continually add to your clients list in order to grow. Many people want to hear that there is a simple trick for finding clients that is fast, easy, and convenient. The truth is, there is no "magic bullet" when it comes to building a client list. It takes a lot of old-fashioned hard work.

Essentially, you need to use your network of friends and acquaintances as well as be willing to make phone calls and knock on doors of various businesses that are good potential clients for you. We provide several tools in our kit such as a list of the best businesses to contact as well as market surveys you can use to make initial contact. But these are just tools. The truth is, if you want to get out on your own, you need to have enough drive that you don’t mind doing the prospecting that is required.

Another of the quickest ways to get started is as an independent subcontractor, which it sounds like you have experience doing. You may try and broaden your reach by contacting additional established couriers and seeing whether they have any work for you. Your experience in this area may help you here.

Best of luck to you in your business!
